Melkior Resources completes 1,449 metres in maiden drill program at Val D’Or

Melkior Resources Inc (CVE:MKR) (OTCMKTS:MKRIF) (FRA:MEK1) said it had completed a maiden 1,449 metres (m) of drilling at its Val D’Or property in Quebec, encountering “multiple mineralization and alterations”.  The company said 705 samples were obtained during the work, which targeted geophysical anomalies that could be related to one or more western extension of the “Vein Zone” area, which is being explored by Eldorado Gold Corp.  READ: Melkior Resources unveils high grade intercepts from Kirkland Lake drilling at Carscallen asset in Ontario Notably, the finds correlated well with the historical Bruell gold discovery, which sits 240m east of the property, said Melkior. Highlights from core logging included 4m of brecciated and silicified volcanoclastics hosting quartz veinlets and up to 10% of fine and disseminated pyrite in multiples sections. Observations linked to potential gold at Bruell included: titaniferous magnetite, bleaching of the host rock, quartz veins, sulphide mineralization that are associated with QFP dykes or shear zones, and sulfides without the presence of any QFP dyke. Melkior wants to make the next major gold discovery in Canada. It boasts a diverse portfolio of gold and base metal projects in major mining camps in Ontario and Quebec.
