Cotabato joins BARMM festivity 

THE COTABATO Provincial Government took part in Monday’s festive celebration of 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Geographic Area (SGA) within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in Midsayap, Cotabato.

Representing Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño-Mendoza was Social Welfare Regional Director Loreto V. Cabaya, Jr., who expressed the province’s trust and support for the BARMM leadership in the 63 barangays previously under Cotabato’s jurisdiction.

As Ms. Taliño-Mendoza extended her pledge to maintain solidarity and communication with BARMM leaders and partners to ensure the welfare of SGA communities, BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim thanked her for her partnership in safeguarding the SGA areas.

In November 2019, Ms. Taliño-Mendoza transferred these 63 barangays from six different towns of North Cotabato to BARMM. The barangays include Dunguan and Tapodoc in Aleosan; Manarapan, Nasapian, Kibayao, Ktulaan, Langogan, Pebpoloan, and Tupig in Carmen; Nanga-an, Simbuhay, Sanggadong, Buluan, Pedtad, Simone, and Tamped in Kabacan; Damatulan, Kadigasan, Kadingilan, Kapinpilan, Kudarangan, Central Labas, Malingao, Mudseng, Nabalawag, Olandang, Sambulawan, Tugal, and Tumbras in Midsayap; Lower Baguer, Balacayon, Buricain, Datu Binasing, Kadingilan, Matilac, Patot, Lower Pangangkalan, Datu Mantil, Libungan Torreta, Upper Pangangkalan, and Simsiman in Pigcawayan; and Bagoinged, S. Balong, S. Balongis, Batulaawan, Buliok, Gokotan, Kabasalan, Lagunde, Macabual, Macasendeg, Barungis, Bualan, Bulol, Fort Pikit, Gli-gli, Manaulanan, Nabundas, Nalapaan, Nunguan, Pamalian, Panicupan, and Rajah Muda in Pikit. — Maya M.
