Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.03%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA), which rose 5.32% or 2.63 points to trade at 52.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) added 2.45% or 0.64 points to end at 26.74 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) was up 2.13% or 0.98 points to 46.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which fell 4.97% or 17.64 points to trade at 337.00 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) declined 2.84% or 3.62 points to end at 124.04 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was down 2.45% or 0.43 points to 17.11.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 144 to 86 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.43% or 11.84 to $2,739.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.53% or 0.41 to hit $77.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.60% or 0.49 to trade at $80.80 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.18% to 20.79, while EUR/MXN fell 0.43% to 21.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 109.23.
